The Wonderful World of RayRay!

Let me start by apologizing that there will be no pictures with this post. My camera needs to be charged, and all of the good pictures still need to be downloaded from other family & friends. (If you are one of those people, please send pictures soon! ha ha) As soon as I get all of the pics, I will post them!

May has been a very busy month for Little Miss Rayleigh. We started the month off with an ear infection, surprise surprise. That makes 4 in 4 months. Not fun. Emily came down and spent the first week with us. She observed Kit in the classroom so that she can get her teaching certification. It was neat to hear from her what Kit is like in the classroom. She also helped me get the house clean for Rayleigh's birthday party. As always, Emily was a lifesaver and epitome of the words "best friend". Love you, Em! Thanks so much for your help.

We had Rayleigh's birthday party on May 8th. We had lots of friends and family down here to celebrate her First Birthday. It was such a wonderful day. She is definitely geared up for summer time now. She got 4 new swimsuits, a life jacket, and an inner tub for the pool! Hopefully she'll learn to love the water a little more now... I think her favorite two toys are the barn with farm animals that she got from Uncle Bubster & Aunt RiRi and the playhouse she got from us and Granny & Doodles. She loves that playhouse and plays in it constantly. She wasn't too sure about the icing on her cake, but I think she liked it. It was all over her face! :)

We still aren't saying very many words, but we finally have DaDa and MaMa down and are trying other things. "ish" for fish and "ba" for ball. She recently started trying to make the sounds that the animals make, like moo and baa. She is also really funny right now because she tries to mimic the faces we make at her. She cracks up at all of our goofy faces.

And last night, Rayleigh took her first steps. Wow. I have never been more proud in my life. Kit & I were both right there and saw the whole thing. It was an amazing experience. To watch her learn and grow every day is the biggest blessing in my life. I truly see God at work in our lives every day through her. She has taught me so much patience and gratitude over the last year. I am so thankful the Lord blessed us with such a wonderful daughter!!

I feel like the tortoise...

What's the moral of that story? Slow & steady wins the race, right? Right now I feel like the tortoise because my weight loss is going SLOWLY. I am still losing inches, which is where it really counts right now, but I would love to see a big number of pounds lost soon. It would be such a confidence booster to drop a few pounds in a single week.
Here are the results from the Weigh In on Tuesday night.
Pounds lost: 1
Upper Chest: - 3/4"
Chest: No difference (And I'm great with that! Who wants to lose inches here? lol)
Waist: - 3/4"
Hips: + 3/4"
Right Thigh: - 1"
Left Thigh: - 3/4"
Right Arm: -1"
Left Arm: - 1/2"
Total Inches Lost: 4

This week has been a little off since we didn't have Boot Camp Monday or Wednesday. I worked out a little on my own Monday night and then this morning I got a pretty good workout in. We will have boot camp again tomorrow. Sallye will be here on tomorrow afternoon, and I am fully confident that she will help me make up for my two missed boot camp sessions by kicking my butt Saturday morning.

Until next week...
